You might remember the name of Nick Franklin, a shortstop who was drafted by the Mariners in 2009 and was seemingly fast tracked for the big leagues until injuries took their toll. Well, Franklin is once again terrorizing minor league pitchers and MILB.com did a nice little feature piece on him - including this priceless gem of a quote:

↵↵↵"I guess one of my goals for this season is to not get hit by a bat again," he said.

Franklin last year was concussed by a teammates errant bat and missed a few weeks. As Justin Morneau's recovery struggles have shown, the MLB takes concussions a bit more seriously than the NFL, so it is nice to see Franklin getting back and at it - with his humor intact as well. Franklin, with his grounded personality, seems like he'll be with the Mariners very soon again.
