Mariners Vs. Tigers Series Preview: Probable Pitchers For 3-Game Tilt Against Detroit

After completing their first home stand of 2012 by being swept by the Chicago White Sox -- including coming up on the wrong side of a perfect game -- the Seattle Mariners will embark on a 10-game road trip on Tuesday. After a day off on Monday to nurse their wounds, the M's will be right back in the thick of things, as they go up against the Detroit Tigers, who are currently in first place in the American League Central.

The Mariners will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak and cllimb back to .500 while on this road trip, but they will have their work cut out for them. The good news for the M's is that they will miss reigning AL Cy Young winner and MVP Justin Verlander.

Jason Vargas will try for his third win of the season as he takes the mound for the M's. His opponent will be Max Scherzer, who is currently 1-1 with a 7.98 ERA.
