Oft-injured backup catcher Adam Moore has been sitting out for quite a while since injuring his knee during Spring Training. Unfortunately for Moore, it looks like the wait-and-see approach isn't quite working out, and according to the Twittersphere he will be going under the knife tomorrow for a medial meniscus tear on his right knee. This is the same knee that caused Moore to miss much of last year, although the injury is in a different location. As is the case with most injuries of this nature, the severity of the tear and the recovery time won't be known until the surgery begins.
With the Mariners bringing in Jesus Montero and John Jaso this offseason, Moore's future with the club was already starting to get a bit murkier, but this injury does no good for any party involved.
