The Seattle Mariners are looking to climb back over .500 and kick off the opening homestand of 2012 with a series win over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. The Mariners shut out the A's on Saturday night behind an exceptional performance by starting pitcher Hector Noesi. On Sunday, Blake Beavan will take the mound for the M's and attempt to avenge the hard-luck 1-0 loss he suffered at the hands of the Texas Rangers in his first start.
The Mariners will look to keep the offense rolling tonight and look for more good things from Jesus Montero, who hit his first home run for Seattle and drove in three of the four runs in Saturday's winning effort. Kyle Seager, who did not start on Saturday, will bat sixth in the lineup.
