MLB Free Agency 2012: Seattle Mariners Sign Hong-Chih Kuo, Shawn Camp

The Seattle Mariners have made some more free agent acquisitions this offseason. Hong-Chih Kuo is coming off a rough 2011 campaign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, with a 9.00 ERA in 40 relief pitching appearances and is probably at his lowest possible value. Seeing those stats, Seattle swooped in to grab Kuo. Kuo has been good (often real good) before 2011, so even a slight return to form would be a huge get for the team.

Shawn Camp was also another pickup. Camp is an aging reliever who could be a quality guy in middle relief and has an effective arm in general.

Chris Gimenez and Mike Wilson have been designated for assignment to make room for Kuo and Camp on the 40 man roster.

PS: 19 year old catcher Christian Carmichael is being suspended 50 games. So that stinks.
