The Seattle Mariners were looking to finish the season on a high note. They did that and then some on Wednesday as they demolished the Los Angeles Angels by the score of 12-0 at Safeco Field.
Seattle got started early and didn't stop as Casper Wells had a huge day, going 2-3 with five RBI and a home run, while Jesus Montero was 2-4 with three RBI. Carlos Triunfel would add two more with a two-RBI double in the seventh inning, while Kyle Seager was 2-5 with an RBI.
As for the Angels, Jered Weaver would depart after just one inning pitched on the night as Seattle beat up on L.A.'s after that. Seattle starter Blake Beavan lasted eight innings on the night, allowing seven hits on 99 pitches thrown.
Mike Trout added a little extra to his Rookie of the Year/MVP resume, going 2-3 with a double.
