The Seattle Mariners ruined their chances of playing playoff spoilers, after losing to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night. Now, while much of major league baseball is gripped with playoff fever and races, the Mariners and Angels are playing for pride.
Michael Saunders is in at centerfield as Franklin Gutierrez recovers from a groin injury. Hisashi Iwakuma takes to the mound in search of his 10th victory of the season. Iwakuma is currently riding a two game winning streak and beat the Angels in his last start, going six innings and giving up one earned run in the win.
