Trayvon Robinson Robs Home Run In Seattle Mariners Debut

Trayvon Robinson has arrived, and boy did he make an entrance. After striking out looking in his first at-bat as a Mariner, Robinson let his glove do the talking in the bottom of the third. With one on and two out, Torii Hunter drilled a Jason Vargas pitch to left. On the run, Robinson had it track, but looked like he was going to run out of room as he reached the wall.

Then the Mariners newest acquisition went over the wall to pull-off one of the more impressive catches I've seen this year.

Via SportsGrid. Go check out the full post for the Mariners' radio call of Robinson's catch, as well.

The contrast of Robinson and Hunter's reactions to the catch is funny to me. On one side, Hunter looks perplexed by what just happened, wondering how that kid in left just robbed his homer. On the other, Robinson is bouncing up and down like a kid, bounding back to the infield after recording the third out.

Not a bad start for the kid who played his first game in the Mariners organization on Monday with the Tacoma Rainiers.
