Greg Halman Sent To AAA; Trayvon Robinson, Wily Mo Pena Could Join Seattle Mariners

Greg Halman was optioned to AAA on Thursday, with a corresponding move set to be made on Friday. Could Trayvon Robinson or Wily Mo Pena be Seattle-bound?

The Seattle Mariners announced two roster moves on Thursday, officially releasing Jack Cust and optioning Greg Halman back to AAA Tacoma. Cust had been designated for assignment and with no takers on the trade block, the Mariners granted him an outright release. On the other hand, Halman was sent back down to Tacoma, and it may be to make room for one of the newest members of the Mariners organization.

As of now, there's no official word on the corresponding roster move to Halman's demotion. Reporters seem to be split, with some wondering if Wily Mo Pena will be called up and others wondering if the lucky player will be Trayvon Robinson.

Pretty certain the #Mariners will call up outfielder Trayvon Robinson on Friday to take Halman's spot.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet Reply

Robinson was acquired in the three-team trade deadline ddeal that sent Erik Bedard to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. The Mariners already have two pieces acquired in recent trades-- Charlie Furbush and Casper Wells -- in Seattle, and Robinson may become the third.

The team will make the corresponding move on Friday after Thursday's off-day. For more on the Mariners and this latest roster move, head over to Lookout Landing.
