Life as a low-level minor leaguer gets boring. It's nowhere near as glamorous as the big-leagues, and players routinely do off-the-wall stuff to stay entertained. The Everett AquaSox, the Single-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, are no exception. The AquaSox decided to make their own music video recently, set to the tune of "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys.
Yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds. Meet the AquaSox Boys.
Boys will be boys, or Backstreet Boys, apparently. This isn't the first time a Mariners' farm team has embraced it's musical side, either. I think we all remember the West Tennessee affiliate telling us to "Take some swings, take some hacks, get on up for the Diamond Jaxx."
I can't even hate on the AquaSox. The video was a way to interact with fans -- the team asked for video suggestions on its Facebook page -- and it was a hilarious way to pass the time. Besides, what young adult male hasn't ironically pretended they were a Backstreet Boys member and sang along to this very song? Just me? Really?
