Sir Mix-a-Lot Will Throw First Pitch At Safeco Field for 80's Night

Seattle's legendary rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot will be throwing out the first pitch at Safeco Field before tonight's game between the Mariners and the San Diego Padres. He is taking this opportunity seriously, as he does not want to end up on the national news for a terrible first pitch like John Wall did a few weeks ago.

On an appearance on 710 ESPN's Kevin Calabro Show, Mix said that he is approaching the opening pitch like a scientist. He made sure to ask the exact distance from home plate to the pitcher's mound, so he could practice the MLB style pitch. (Via: MyNorthwest.com)

The Mariners and Padres will also be sporting throwback 80's uniforms. The first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive a Miguel Olivo and Justin Smoak "Mariners Vice" poster.
