Freddie Freeman drilled an Erik Bedard pitch in the seventh inning, sending it over the wall in center field to give the Atlanta Braves a 3-1 lead over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night. At Safeco Field, a shot to straight-away center, or close to it, is an impressive feat. The ball doesn't carry well as it is, and a ball has to be hit incredibly hard to clear the wall in center.
↵While it was sad to see the home run, and the subsequent Mariners' loss, I can't stop laughing at Bedard's reaction. Thanks to some brilliant camera work -- the operator in center zooms in on Bedard right after the ball leaves the bat -- we get this amazing reaction, including what appears to be a "wow."
