Franklin Gutierrez Robs Nick Swisher With Leaping Grab Friday Night

File this one away as another "if you missed it" image from the past few days. After all, it was Memorial Day weekend and all the Seattle Mariners were doing was taking two of three from the New York Yankees while boosting their record above .500 for the first time in what seemed like forever. Oh, and that Franklin Gutierrez guy reminded us all why we love him so much and missed his ability to effortlessly patrol center field. Just another ho-hum weekend.

Here's Gutierrez making the difficult look easy while robbing Nick Swisher of a home run on Friday night.

At the time, the Yankees were up 1-0, but the Mariners came back to win it by a run, 4-3. While Gutierrez does make the play look effortless, it was far from it. He was shading Swisher to second, but ends up tracking the ball all the way to right center as it continued to drift away from him. The result was another superb play from Gutierrez, whose defense is second-to-none in center.

It's good to have you back, Guti. Never leave us.
