The Seattle Seahawks have an early lead over the San Francisco 49ers, 14-0, after one quarter of play in Seattle in a battle of NFC West rivals.
The Seahawks scored after a punt gave them a short field following the 49ers first possession of the game. Running back Marshawn Lynch delivered the touchdown on a 24-yard run on what amounted to just a two-play, 35-yard drive. Lynch then followed it up with another touchdown, this time off a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson that ended a nine-play, 86-yard drive.
The Seahawks have dominated early with 121 total yards to the Niners' 69. It's been a balanced attack with Wilson accounting for 77 yards and a touchdown while Lynch has 41 yards on six carries and a touchdown. Six of the Seahawks' first 11 plays resulted in first downs.
49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is only 4-for-9 for 41 yards in the early going but had the Niners threatening to score as the quarter came to a close.
