Falling behind 7-0 to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles not withstanding, the Oregon Ducks cruised to an easy 63-14 victory Saturday, a performance that drew praise from the Oregon faithful, which expects the type of throttling performance the Ducks delivered.

Over at Addicted to Quack, the guys had high praise for Oregon's defensive effort in their final non-conference game, although penalties continued to bug the Ducks.

Dion Jordan and the defensive line came at Lamb again and again and limited Tennessee Tech to 176 yards on the game, and more importantly, 1/17 on third down conversions. Unfortunately, that production came with a price. Oregon's defense was called for a number of personal fouls.

De'Anthony Thomas continued to impress, putting up more than 200 yards of total offense on just 10 touches.

De'Anthony Thomas amazed again, with a number of spectacular runs. He talled 220 total yards on 3 rushes, 3 receptions, and 4 returns. He scored two touchdowns, but was denied a third when a Tennessee Tech defender caught DAT as he slowed near the goal line and knocked the ball out.

If anything, some criticism was reserved for the offensive line, which looked underwhelming at times.

The main issue for the offense was the offensive line play. They failed to get a push for much of the first half and racked up multiple penalties that made it difficult for the Ducks to keep drives going. The Ducks also had a field goal blocked.

The Oregon Ducks posted a third-straight victory to start the 2012 season when they rolled the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, 63-14, on Saturday Afternoon in Eugene.

The Ducks got off to a shaky start, falling behind 7-0 after the Golden Eagles capitalized on a fumbled punt by De'Anthony Thomas.

Thomas more than made up for his error, scoring on a 59-yard touchdown run, and adding two receiving touchdowns. In the end, Thomas posted 222 all-purpose yards on just ten touches.

Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota had an efficient day, completing 21-28 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns. He came out after the first drive of the third quarter, with the Ducks leading, 42-7. Sophomore Bryan Bennett replaced Mariota. Bennett was ineffective throwing the ball, completing just 2/5 passes with an interception, but he did rush for two scores.

The biggest beneficiary of the blowout was Oregon backup running back Byron Marshall, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries.

Arizona comes to Autzen Stadium next Saturday as Oregon opens up Pac-12 play. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.

The Oregon Ducks hold a 21-7 lead after one quarter of play in their game against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Autzen Stadium.

Tennessee Tech jumped out to the early lead after the Ducks' De'Anthony Thomas fumbled a punt and gave the Golden Eagles the ball on the Oregon 23. TTU would score on the next play on a pass from Tre Lamb to former Tennessee star Da'Rick Rogers, and jump on top, 7-0.

It has been all Oregon from that point. The Ducks answered right back, taking one minute to go 63 yards on five plays. Barner scored on a 1-yard run to cap the drive and the game was tied at seven,

The Ducks would score on their next two drives. First, on a 59-yard rushing score from Thomas.
The No. 4 Oregon Ducks play host to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on Saturday, looking to make a statement to the Pac-12 and the rest of the FBS.

Despite the loss of safety John Boyett and starting guard Carson York to season ending injuries, the Ducks have to keep moving forward as they look to make a BCS bowl game this season. The Golden Eagles could be in for a handful come Saturday, especially with running back Kenjon Barner, who has already amassed 267 rushing yards and five touchdowns after two games this season.
