The Final Four games in the 2012 NCAA Tournament were held in New Orleans on Saturday. When all was said and done, the national championship game was set and only two teams remained in the penultimate night of action in March Madness.

In the first of the two games, the overall No. 1 seed Kentucky Wildcats were able to hold off their in-state rivals the Louisville Cardinals, picking up the win by a final score of 69-61.

In the nightcap, a spectacular game broke out between No. 2 seeds the Ohio St. Buckeyes and the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks scored the first basket of the game and then fell behind for nearly the balance of play, coming from behind in the final minutes to pick up the 64-62 win and advance to the national championship game.

The final battle for the national title will tip off on Monday night in New Orleans.

The Louisville Cardinals are set to face the Kentucky Wildcats in the Final Four of the 2012 NCAA Tournament and the winner will face the winner of the Ohio State-Kansas game. Of the four teams that have made it to this point, the Cardinals are the lowest seed (No. 4) and are likely considered the underdogs, especially since they're playing No. 1 seeded Kentucky. However, they have knocked some tough competition out of the tournament, including No. 1 seeded Michigan State.

Junior Peyton Siva, a Seattle native and one of the Cardinals' starting guards, has been one of the main reasons for the team's success throughout the season. However, his production, at least when it comes to scoring, has tailed off throughout the tournament.

The Seattle native started the tournament off with a bang, scoring 17 points in the team's first game against the No. 13 seeded Davidson Wildcats. However, since then, Siva has not scored more than nine points despite playing more minutes in each game.

In the Cardinals' second game, against the No. 5 seeded New Mexico Lobos, Siva only managed to score six points, and then in the third game, he only scored four against the No. 1 seeded Spartans. He bounced back slightly in the team's next game, scoring nine against the Florida Gators.

It seems that as the competition got tougher, Siva scored less and less, and if that's the case, he may struggle against the Wildcats, who are favored to win the tournament. If the Cardinals are going to advance to the championship game, Silva will have to bounce back from three mediocre performances and put up some more points to help his team defeat the 20th-ranked scoring team in the NCAA.

The 2012 NCAA Tournament once featured 68 teams, but two weeks of thrilling basketball action has narrowed the field down to just four teams. In the first game of Final Four action, the Kentucky Wildcats will take on the Louisville Cardinals in a game that comes with serious rivalry implications. In the nightcap, the Ohio St. Buckeyes will take on the Kansas Jayhawks in what appears to be a tremendous game on paper.

So which teams are favored in these games? According to Odds Shark, Kentucky is a nine-point favorite over Louisville. The Wildcats feature seven players who average upwards of 10 points a night, and their athleticism is off the charts. The Cardinals rely on strong defense to beat you, and they ranked No. 2 nationally according to Kenpom.com.

The over/under on points for the matchup is 137.5.

As for the Kansas vs. Ohio State showdown, the Buckeyes are favored by 2.5 points on Saturday evening. Both teams feature strong guard play and an All-American big man in the way of Jared Sullinger and Thomas Robinson. The over/under for the game has been set at 136.5.

Kentucky vs. Louisville is set to begin at 3:10 PT, with the Kansas vs. Ohio State game coming sometime around 5:45 PT.

Well, it's about that time. The Final Four has been set, and though there were some early bracket-busting upsets and some shattered dreams along the way, the teams still alive aren't super surprising. No. 1 Kentucky is set to square off against No. 4 Louisville, and No. 2 Ohio State will take on No. 2 seed Kansas. Hopefully, for your sake, you still have a team or two left in it - and even if you don't, you may want to go back and take a look at how you've done up until this point.

NCAA March Madness has lived up to its namesake this year, and the Final Four is now set. There were some major upsets and surprises this year, but ultimately the remaining field is made up of a 1-seed, two 2-seeds, and a 4-seed.

Kentucky will face off against Louisville in an intra-state battle for Kentucky supremacy and a chance at the National Championship. Seattle native Peyton Siva will lead the Cardinals in their upset bid, and the junior guard is one of few Northwestern representatives remaining in the tournament.

On the other side, Ohio State will battle Kansas for a chance at the title game. Here is the schedule for Saturday's Final Four games:

No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats (36-2) vs. No. 4 Louisville Cardinals (30-9) - 3:09 pm PT (6:09 ET), CBS

The fan bases of four teams remain completely engaged in March Madness. Here is the best fan reaction from SB Nation's network of blogs about this weekend's upcoming Final Four matchups:

On the Kentucky Wildcats

Even though I feel, without any real doubt, that this UK juggernaut is the absolute best team in the country, that truth just isn't enough for me to feel comfortable. Add the Cardinal element to an already nerve-wracking set of Final Four circumstances, and memories of recent vintage Big Dance letdowns come flooding back into my consciousness. Reminding me no one, or no thing is absolute when it comes to athletic competition (well, with the exception that a Dookie will at some point flop ... and sometimes "flop" in more ways than one). (Via: Ken Howlett, A Sea Of Blue)

On the Louisville Cardinals:

No two fan bases care about college basketball more than Louisville and Kentucky, and partially as a result of that, no rivalry in the sport is accompanied by more mutual disdain. Take all of that and ship it to New Orleans for a meeting in the Final Four and you've got...well, I don't even know. Nobody does.

What I do know is that regardless of what takes place, this will be a week all of us will remember and be talking about for the rest of our lives. (Via: Mike Rutherford, Card Chronicle)

On the Ohio State Buckeyes:

Unlike Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, etc., when Ohio State makes the Final Four, it's all the more memorable because it's not taken as much for granted. The roller coaster ride that OSU has been on for the past 20 years has made the highlights easier to cherish in contrast to the lowlights. The 2007 Ohio State team, with two top-five picks in the NBA Draft, probably didn't get their just appreciation due to the enormous talent level. However, subsequent top-five teams and their early exits have given a renewed vigor toward these lofty achievements. (Via: Kyle Lamb, Along the Olentangy)

On the Kansas Jayhawks:

As Kansas fans, we are rarely afforded this opportunity. Not to go to the final four; that is an opportunity we are thankfully afforded a lot. But the opportunity to watch a team with more question marks than sure things (you could even say all question marks) grow into a league champion, and then in three consecutive NCAA tournament teams where they could have easily lost, pull out tough wins. This Kansas team didn't out talent everyone. They out toughed, out fought, and out competed everyone. (of course it didn't hurt to catch a couple of big breaks along the way). (Via: fetch9, Rock Chalk Talk)

Four teams remain after two weekends of exciting college basketball in this year's NCAA Tournament. The 2012 Final Four field consists of Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Kansas.
