According to a report on Wednesday afternoon, the Cleveland Indians have traded pitcher Aaron Laffey to the Seattle Mariners. There aren't many details about the trade, with Laffey the only name mentioned as heading to Seattle and no word on what's going back to Cleveland for him.

The news was passed along by Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer.

Laffey compiled a 2-3 record with the Indians in 2010, racking up a 4.53 ERA in 29 appearances and five starts. He spent much of the year bouncing between the bullpen and starting rotation, filling in with spot-starts when needed. In spring training this year, Laffey was in limbo as he battled for the fifth starter job.

In Seattle, it's unclear what his role in Seattle will be as he joins a pile of pitchers battling for rotation and bullpen jobs.
