Oregon State bounced back from a loss to the Washington State Cougars last weekend, trouncing the USC Trojans in Corvallis, 36-7. Just one week after an uninspired performance against the Cougs, Oregon State came out firing, dominating the Trojans in every facet of the game. USC not only lost game, but also lost starting quarterback Matt Barkley to an apparent ankle injury at the end of the first half.

The dam broke for the Beavers early in the second quarter when Barkley dropped back and was intercepted by Jordan Poyer. Kahut jumped an out route, racing 65 yards for the score. Jacquizz Rodgers added a three yard touchdown run and the rout was on. Oregon State kicker Justin Kahut added three field goals for the Beavers.

Ryan Katz played well for the Beavers, completing 17 of 24 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Rodgers carried the load for Oregon State, rushing for 127 and a touchdown on 26 carries. Rodgers also lead the Beaver receivers with seven catches for 43 yards. Jordan Bishop and Joe Halahuni both caught touchdowns for OSU.

Barkley was having an off-night before going down with an injury. In one half of play, the USC sophomore threw for only 75 yards and an interception. Mitch Mustain took the reigns in the second half and reminded everyone why he became a punter, completing eight of 17 passes for 60 yards. C.J Gable led the Trojans on the ground with 57 yards and a touchdown, the only time USC found the end zone. Ronald Johnson led all receivers with 45 yards on five catches.

USC, after returning to the AP Top-25 this week, fell to 7-4 with the loss. Oregon State improved to 5-5, just one win away from bowl eligibility. USC hosts the Notre Dame Fighting Irish next Saturday while Oregon State travels to Palo Alto to take on the No. 6 Stanford Cardinal.

It was all Stanford, all the time in the 113th Big game today in Berkley. The Cardinal jumped all over the Cal Bears, cruising to a 48-14 victory when all was said and done. Up 31-0 at the half, Stanford rolled to victory, easily outclassing the Bears in a dominating performance.

On the day, the Cardinal racked up 466 yards of total offense, including 236 yards through the air, while picking up 28 first downs. The defense held Cal to just 299 yards of offense while forcing three turnovers.

Allen also caught six passes for 70 yards to lead the Bear’s receivers.

The Cardinal improved to 10-1 on the year with another strong performance this week. Cal fell to 5-6 and must win next week against the Washington Huskies to become bowl eligible.
The Stanford Cardinal are flat dominating the Cal Bears in the Big Game today. The Cardinal jumped out to an early lead and have kept the pedal to the medal, leading 45-0 after three quarters. Before the game even kicked off, emotions were high on the field, with both teams engaging in a minor brawl. Stanford's Jamal Rashad-Patterson was ejected for throwing a punch in the pre-game festivities. The Cardinal have had seven possession in the game so far, scoring every time. It's been an incredibly dominating performance.

It's been all Andrew Luck, all the time for Stanford thus far. Luck has completed 15 of 20 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns. The Heisman darkhorse has also added 72 yards on three carries, including a ridiculous 58-yard run in the first half. Luck has looked completely unstoppable all day long.

Receiver Doug Baldwin has been the biggest benefactor of Luck's performance, catching five passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. In double coverage, Baldwin went up, out-leaped the defenders and brought down a long Luck pass in the first half. Later, he made an amazing leaping grab in the end zone. Stepfan Taylor also added three touchdowns on the ground for the Cardinal.

On the Cal side, it hasn't been pretty. Brock Mansion has completed 11-20 passes for 83 and two interceptions. Under fire most of the day, Mansion has been unable to escape the pressure of Stanford's relentless defense, forcing throws and taking sacks. Shane Vereen carried the ball 14 times for 58 yards through three quarters. Vereen also led the Bears' receivers, catching three passes for 24 yards.

Through three quarters in Berkley, it's a rout in the Big Game, with the Cardinal leading the Bears, 45-0.
