Webb Simpson is your 2012 U.S. Open champion. Simpson birdied four holes in a five-hole stretch, got pars the rest of the way in the final round, moved into contention for the lead, then won by default when Jim Furyk made two bogeys down the stretch and coughed up his one-shot lead down the stretch.
Pacific Northwestern golfers did not perform well this weekend. Casey Martin finished +9 overall and missed the cut. Ben Crane and Kyle Stanley were +10 each on Thursday and Friday and ended up missing the cut. Nick Sherwood went +18 the first two days and really missed the cut.
