Round 3 of the 2012 U.S. Open has proven to be a significant challenge for the leaders, and of the three men who opened the day tied for first, only Jim Furyk remains. With a birdie on hole seven he was able to separate from Graeme McDowell and Nicolas Colsaerts, both of whom managed to move up while Tiger Woods and David Toms struggled. Woods hasn't slipped too far, sitting tied for fourth at 3-over on the day and 2-over for the tournament. Toms has had a worse day, sitting 5-over for Round 3 4-over for the week thus far.
There are over 25 players within 5 strokes of the lead, so Round 3 and Sunday's Round 4 will likely see plenty of movement on the leaderboard.
