2011 Boeing Classic: Mark Calcavecchia Hanging Onto Slim Lead Over Russ Cochran

Now there's a name you haven't heard in awhile. Mark Calcavecchia has climbed to the top of the leaderboard at -11, shooting -4 through the front nine. Calcavecchia actually went -4 through the first seven holes before bogeying the eighth, but his birdies on the first, third, sixth, seventh and ninth holes have given him a slim one-shot lead. Calcavecchia has been on a hot streak, birding nine of the last 20 holes and eagling the 18th yesterday.

Calcavecchia is followed by three other notable names; Russ Cochran is in the second position. Cochran is -3 on the day with four birdies on the front nine at 1, 3, 8 and 9 (and a bogey on 6). Jeff Sluman has two birdies to his name, shooting a quiet -2 and staying right behind the top two at -9.  Kenny Perry boged the third but rebounded to birdie the fifth, sixth and eight holes to also stick around at -9. Looks like this one is going down to the wire! Hang onto the edges of your rocking chairs.
