Hale Irwin had Friday's highlight of the day at the Boeing Classic with his ace on the ninth hole at TPC-Snoqualmie. The hole-in-one was the seventh of Irwin's career and second in Boeing Classic history. At the time, the ace helped propel Irwin into the lead, though he finished the day two shots back of Russ Cochran at 4-under.
Here are the video highlights of Friday's Boeing Classic action. Irwin's ace is at the 30-second mark.
The 54-hole Boeing Classic resumes on Saturday at TPC-Snoqualmie, just east of Seattle. Local boy, and fan favorite, Fred Couples stumbled on the first day, and is six shots back at even-par for the tournament. Couples has plenty of momentum, having won the Senior PGA last week, and may still be within striking distance, currently sitting in a tie for 21st.
But while Couples may be the fan favorite, it was Irwin's hole-in-one that wowed the crowd. Not a bad way to start of a Champions Tour tournament that's become a favorite, both for the golfers that participate and fans that attend.
