Oregon State Vs. UCLA Score Update: Beavers Lead 3-0 After 1st Quarter

Seeking a second consecutive upset, the Oregon State Beavers are leading, 3-0, over the 19th-ranked UCLA Bruins through the first quarter on Saturday afternoon. With quarterback Sean Mannion and the defense playing well, a major road victory could be in the works here.

Mannion has looked good so far, completing 10-of-15 passes for 122 yards. He nearly added a 50-yard touchdown pass to those numbers, but it was called back on a penalty. Six different receivers have already caught passes from Mannion on Saturday, so he's doing a nice job of distributing the ball against the Bruins.

Oregon State's defense has been superb so far, holding UCLA to just two first downs in the first quarter. One of those first downs was the result of a penalty, too, so the Beavers have generally done a very strong job of limiting UCLA's offensive attack.
