2012 College Football Rankings: Alabama, Oregon stay in the top 2 spots

A big weekend of first losses, big wins and an SEC shakeup led the Week 7 BlogPoll to make its own changes, rewarding the teams who came through and downgrading those who didn’t.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are still looking down on the rest of college football with 64 of 87 first-place votes. But sitting at No. 2 are the Oregon Ducks, who have taken care of their own business while the teams that started the season in front of them have faltered.

Added to that list of faltering teams are the LSU Tigers, who dropped to No. 9 in the new poll after losing to the now No. 5 Florida Gators. The South Carolina Gamecocks moved up to No. 3 after defeating the Georgia Bulldogs, who dropped eight spots to No. 13.

The West Virginia Mountaineers fill out the rest of the top five, coming in at No. 4.

Every team in the top seven received at least one first-place vote.
