The Oregon St. Beavers enter the the 2012 Alamo Bowl as two-point favorites over the Texas Longhorns, according to the folks at Odds Shark. The Beavers hope to win their first bowl game since a 3-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers in the 2008 Sun Bowl.

The current over/under for the game is set at 57.5 points as two of the top 40 scoring offenses in the nation take the field. Oregon State's passing offense is particularly prolific, ranking 15th nationally in yards per game, though the Longhorns attack defenses with a more balanced offense.

While the Beavers stumbled a bit during the second half of the season as their schedule became more difficult, they still managed to finish the season with a 77-0 beatdown of the Nicholls St. Colonels. That game had originally been scheduled for Sept. 1, but it was re-scheduled for Dec. 1 due to weather.

The Longhorns also struggled near the end of the season, finishing with back-to-back losses to TCU and Kansas State over the final two weeks of the regular season. Against ranked teams this season, Texas is just 1-3, with the lone win being a 31-22 victory over then-No. 18 Texas Tech, which lost four of its final five games.
