The Oregon State Beavers lead the visiting Nicholls State Colonels, 35-0, after one half of play in Corvallis. OSU is looking to end their regular season on a high note and have dominated every facet of the game thus far. The Beavers can get their ninth win on Saturday, flipping their record of 3-9 from 2011.
Both top quarterbacks have seen action for OSU. Sean Mannion got the start and was nearly perfect. He completed 15 of 16 passes for 174 yards in leading the Beavers to touchdowns on each of their first three possessions.
Cody Vaz took over on the final two possession of the half, and picked up where Mannion left off. Vaz connected on 8 of 9 attempts for 81 yards on the way to two more Oregon State touchdowns.
Markus Wheaton has 12 catches on the day, and his 11th made him the all-time career receptions leader at Oregon State. His 12th was a 2-yard touchdown catch from Vaz that gave the Beavers a score on each of their first five drives.
The Beavers will likely rest most of their starters in the second half with the big lead.
