The Oregon State Beavers were supposed to open their season by hosting Nicholls State, but will instead close their regular season against the Colonels.
The game was originally scheduled to be played on September 3, but was postponed after Hurricane Isaac forced the Nicholls State campus to close. With no available dates during the season, the game was instead moved to the end of the year. The rescheduling may benefit Oregon State who is looking to get over a tough 48-24 loss to Oregon in the Civil War.
The Beavers will now have an opponent to take their mind off the loss to Oregon before turning their attention to their bowl game. Nicholls State, a team from the Football Championship Subdivision, shouldn't pose much of a threat to the Beavers. The Colonels are just 1-9 on the season, with their only win coming against a NAIA team.
Saturday's game is scheduled to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
