Kenjon Barner of the Oregon Ducks is finally attracting Heisman noise. It took awhile, but after an incredible single-game performance against the USC Trojans, he's definitely rising up the lists. Barner piled up 321 yards and five touchdowns on 38 rushes, giving him four games on the season where he's scored three touchdowns and another four where he's rushed for 140 yards. As Oregon's most potent weapon, he becomes the Duck most likely to capture the Heisman hardware.
Barner will have some stiff competition. Collin Klein of Kansas State is likely the frontrunner if the Wildcats stay undefeated, A.J. McCarron has a good shot if Alabama runs the table, Manti Te'o of Notre Dame is a defensive dark horse if the Irish win out and even Braxton Miller of Ohio State should have a shot if the Buckeyes go undefeated. Right now, Barner is in a tight Heisman race, although it's unclear whether he's the exact favorite or not.
