The Gonzaga Bulldogs have been rewarded for their fast start to the season with a No. 12 ranking in both the Associated Press and USA Today-ESPN coaches polls that were released on Monday.
At 6-0, the Bulldogs moved up four spots in the coaches poll and five in the AP after last week. The No. 12 ranking is the highest the Bulldogs have been ranked since being No. 10 in the final AP poll of 2009.
All of the Bulldogs' wins have been in blowout fashion except for an eight-point win over the Clemson Tigers on Nov. 22. The biggest game on the schedule coming up is a tilt against the 22nd-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini on Dec. 8 on ESPN 2 at 7:00 pm ET.
The Fighting Illini and the No. 15 Oklahoma St. Cowboys (Dec. 31) are the only two games remaining on the Bulldogs' schedule against currently ranked teams.
