Gonzaga Vs. Xavier Recap: Bulldogs Top Musketeers, 72-65

The Gonzaga Bulldogs put together a strong road win over the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday night.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs hit the road on Saturday to take on the Xavier Musketeers. The Bulldogs were able to take a lead at the half and hang on for the eventual 72-65 win to improve to an overall record of 11-2. They handed Xavier just their second home loss of the season.

The Bulldogs led 35-31 at the half thanks to strong play by a deep bench. Their leading scorer was Sam Dower, who picked up a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Elias Harris also had a strong game, finishing with 12 points and six rebounds. Guard Kevin Pangos recorded 32 minutes on the floor, picking up 13 points and seven assists despite going just 3-for-10 on field goal attempts.

Xavier guards Terrell Holloway and Mark Lyons each recorded 15 points.

Gonzaga's next game will be their second in WCC conference play, as they host the Pepperdine Waves on Thursday, January 5.
