The 2011 Battle In Seattle is here and it features two of the more prominent college basketball programs on the west coast. The Gonzaga Bulldogs and Arizona Wildcats will face-off at Key Arena on Saturday afternoon in a game that will be huge for both teams as they look to boost their resumés for March Madness.
Gonzaga enters the showdown at 6-2 on the season and will have the hometown crowd behind them. They are led by big man Robert Sacre, who could cause a lot of problems for Arizona's undersized front line. The Wildcats lost their starting point guard, sixth man, and All-American forward in Derrick Williams from last year's Elite Eight run, although Sean Miller has the UA back on track with a stellar recruiting class.
Many around the country expect a great game and the Bulldogs will attempt to earn their first win against Arizona (0-3). The two programs last met in 2006, a closely contested game that the 'Cats won in Phoenix.
The game will be broadcast live on CBS at 1 p.m. For those of you wanting to see the game in-person, tickets still remain. For more, head on over to our team sites The Slipper Still Fits and Arizona Desert Swarm.
