Taiwan Jones Runs Blazing Fast 40-Yard Dash At His Pro Day

We already know Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones has blazing speed, making him one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2011 NFL Draft. But injury and durability concerns have followed Jones and he hasn't been able to showcase his ability -- specifically his speed -- ahead of the draft. But Jones is finally healthy and at his own pro day, he turned in a blistering 40-yard dash that turned heads fast enough to give whiplash.

According to Yahoo!'s Doug Farrar, Jones was clocked at 4.32 in the 40, making him one of the fastest prospects in the 2011 NFL Draft. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's watched Jones run, but seeing him healthy and showing off a burst of speed is surely a good sign for his draft stock.

Here's a sample of Jones' speed, shot by Farrar at Athlete's Performance Institute. Jones was clocking 1.4-second 10-yard splits at the time.

Somebody is going to get a steal in the mid-rounds of the draft and if Jones can stay healthy, he has the speed and ability to be a game-breaker.
