The Oregon Ducks remained at No. 1 in the fourth BCS rankings of the year, but the gap between the Ducks and Auburn Tigers is closing rapidly. A quality win by TCU hurt the Ducks, bumping Oregon down in the computer rankings as TCU’s schedule strengthened. The gap between Oregon and Auburn is now just .0027 points.
The Ducks and Tigers are firmly planted in the driver's seat as we head toward the BCS National Championship. The gap between second and third place this week stands at just under four hundredths of a point, a healthy margin by BCS standards. TCU sits at No. 3, six hundredths of a point clear of No. 4 Boise State. LSU rounds out the top 5 after a three-point win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Around the rest of the Pac-10, Stanford checked in at No. 7, six spots better than last week after a win over former No. 15 Arizona. The Wildcats fell three spots with the loss and came in at No. 18. Oregon, Stanford and Arizona are the only ranked teams again this week.
