College Football Rankings, Week 11: Oregon Tops AP Poll, Stanford At No. 7

The Oregon Ducks remained at No. 1 in the AP Poll this morning, just as they did in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Oregon, 9-0 on the year, topped the Washington Huskies yesterday at Autzen Stadium, 53-16. The Ducks are atop the AP Top 25 for the fourth straight week

After being passed up by TCU in the Coaches Poll, Boise State was jumped by both TCU and Auburn in the AP Poll today. The Broncos fell to No. 4, while Auburn and TCU both moved up one spot to No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. The Broncos can’t catch a break in the polls as the season progress, stymied by a WAC schedule that’s less than difficult.

LSU rounded out the top 5, moving up seven spots to No. 5 with a win over Alabama. Michigan State was a big mover in the AP Poll, as they were in the Coaches Poll, moving up six spots to No. 10. Wisconsin, Nebraska and Ohio State all remained in the top 10 this week, as well.

Around the Pac-10, Stanford moved-up three spots to No. 7 after a convincing win over the Arizona Wildcats last night. The Wildcats fell five spots to No. 18 with the loss. USC, after a wild finish against the Arizona State Sun Devils, were the last team out, checking in at No. 26 and just missing a spot in the top 25.

The Ducks should be No. 1 in tonight’s BCS rankings after downing the Huskies. Last week’s No. 2, Auburn, defeated cupcake Chattanooga in a game that shouldn’t be enough to unseat Oregon. Stanford, with another quality win, should continue to move up and are, perhaps, the best one-loss team in the country right now.
