The NCAA selection committee has set the full 68-team bracket, and selected the Gonzaga Bulldogs as the No. 1 seed in the West region.
The Bulldogs are the lowest-rated No. 1 seed, but the team should enjoy their favorable placement in the West region. Gonzaga will open the tournament against the No. 16 Southern U. Jaguars; if Gonzaga wins, they will face either the No 8 Pittsburgh Panthers or the No. 9 Wichita St. Shockers in the third round. The second and third round games in Gonzaga's bracket will be played in Salt Lake City, UT.
Four Pac-12 teams also made the tournament. The highest seeded Pac-12 team is the No. 6 UCLA Bruins, who will open the tournament against the No. 11 Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Colorado Buffaloes are the No. 10 seed in the East, and will play the No. 7 Illinois Fighting Illini. The California Golden Bears are the No. 12 seed in the East, and will open the tournament against the No. 5 UNLV Runnin' Rebels. The Pac-12 tournament champion Oregon Ducks also received a No. 12 seed, and will play No. 5 Oklahoma St. Cowboys in the Midwest region.
