The Seattle Seahawks hold the 25th pick in the NFL Draft, and the Combine is giving teams a much better picture of where the prospects stand.
SB Nation's Matthew Fairburn released his latest mock draft on Monday, and he has the Seahawks taking West Virginia WR Tavon Austin:
Tavon Austin proved his speed and strength at the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend, solidifying his status as a first round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. He would be an outstanding fit for the Seahawks, who need a wide receiver with speed to play the slot.
Austin had some questions about his straight-line speed, but he silenced those doubts by running a 4.34 40 at the Combine. That all but cements his status as a first-round pick, as he's arguably the most explosive playmaker in this draft class.
The Seahawks have needs along the defensive line with Jason Jones and Alan Branch up for free agency, but Pete Carroll and John Schneider tend to throw conventional wisdom out of the window when it comes to draft strategy. It's served them well so far, having gone 11-5 and acquiring some of the best young talent in the league. Seattle has a decent WR corps in place already, but the idea of Austin teaming up with Russell Wilson may be too salivating for them to pass up.
