The Seattle Seahawks might not have been wrong to waive Kellen Winslow, because it looks as if the New England Patriots don't like what they see either. Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com reports that Patriots have signed a tight end to their roster, but it's Michael Hoomanawanui, who used to play under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
What was the big problem? Mary Paoletti of CSN New England informs us via sources that Winslow failed his physical because of issues with his knee. The knee issues are probably a part of the reason the Seahawks parted ways with Winslow last weekend.
The Seahawks let go of Winslow despite talk Seattle was going to incorporate him heavily into their two tight end sets on offense. It looks as if Zach Miller will have to be the primary option, with Evan Moore and Anthony McCoy likely to jostle for position as well.
Talk about Winslow with Patriots fans at Pats Pulpit, and with Seahawks fans at Field Gulls.
