Oregon State vs. Arizona update: Beavers take 7-0 lead

The Oregon State Beavers and Arizona Wildcats were scoreless until the Beavers were able to score a touchdown late in the first quarter, giving the team a 7-0 lead over the Wildcats after the first quarter of play.

The Beavers and Wildcats each received three possessions in the first quarter, but it was the Beavers who were able to put points on the board with one of the six drives between the two teams.

With 2:05 remaining in the first quarter, sophomore quarterback Sean Mannion connected with Markus Wheaton on a two-yard pass for a touchdown. Beavers kicker Trevor Romaine successfully tacked on the extra point, capping off a nine play, 83-yard drive that ended in a touchdown.

For the Beavers, freshman running back Storm Woods ran for 41 yards in the first quarter and already has nine carries on the night. Meanwhile, the defense is holding Wildcats quarterback Matt Scott to 30 yards on 5-for-10 passing.
