The Tour Championship 2012: Brandt Snedeker Takes Home FedEx Cup Honors With Tournament Victory

Brandt Snedeker earned himself some considerable hardware Sunday, winning both the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup with a final round of two-under.

Snedeker drained three birdies on the back nine to cap of the biggest day of his eight-year career. He was the only player from the last five groups to register a score under par and finished 10-under overall.

Snedeker began the tournament sitting at fifth in the FedEx Cup standings but finishes it $11.4 million richer ($10 million from FedEx Cup and $1.4 million from Tour championship).

Justin Rose finished three strokes behind for second. Luke Donald and Tacoma-native Ryan Moore rounded out the top four tied for third. Moore had his chances Sunday but ended on a miserable streak of three-straight bogeys to close it out.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlory entered tournament as contenders with the chance to take home the FedEx Cup if they could exit the tournament victorious. Instead they finished in eighth and tenth respectively with overall scores of -2 and -1.
