NFL Picks, Week 3: Prognosticating Every Game Across The League

I managed to go 11-5 last week, despite getting my heart broken by the Ravens, Patriots and Buccaneers. I'm going to try and not take those losses personal. Week 3 picks, GO!

I managed to go 11-5 last week, despite getting my heart broken by the Ravens, Patriots and Buccaneers. I'm going to try and not take those losses personal. Week 3 picks, GO!

Giants @ Panthers - Giants won't be able to come back on the Panthers, as Cam Newton will be able to keep his defense off the field better than the Bucs did. New York's first road trip of the year smacks them in the mouth. PICK: PANTHERS

Rams @ Bears - Rams are coming off a big win and heading to Chicago, where Chicagoans will be screaming for vicious quarterback hits. They'd even be happy to see some of them handed out by their own defense. Bears will be fired up, as a loss to the Rams will put everyone's job in jeopardy. But this is a bad matchup for the Bears, whose offensive lines woes are ripe for exploitation by Jeff Fisher. PICK: RAMS

Bills @ Browns - I am all aboard the Brown train this week. No that's terrible....

Riding the Brown line.....that sounds a horrible illness. Browns get their first win in this one, by scoring more points than Buffalo. PICK: Cleveland

Bucs @ Cowboys - Can the Cowboys bounce back against the Bucs, who played the Giants tough on the road? I expect a better Dallas effort at home. But this game is also about the testing Greg Schiano's no mercy scheme. Will his young team keep the faith and stay disciplined, or will getting their heart ripped out cause them to wither under their coaches glare. I foresee Romo playing heartbreaker in this one. PICK: COWBOYS

Lions @ Titans - Lions set a sinking ship on fire. PICK: LIONS

Jaguars @ Colts - Jaguars have allowed more rushing yards then they average in passing yards. Andrew Luck is going to be tough at home. Jacksonville can't hang, fall to 0-3. PICK: COLTS

Jets @ Dolphins - The Jets went all dirty gym sock (they stunk) last week in Pittsburgh. In the meantime, Miami has played the run exceptionally well against two of the NFL's better ground attacks (83 yards for Houston and 23 for Oakland). Put the Jets on the road, take away the run, and they're in trouble. Pick: DOLPHINS

49ers @ Vikings - Vikings define moribund. 49ers roll'em up. PICK: SAN FRAN

Chiefs @ Saints - This game comes at a good time for New Orleans. Matt Ryan and Ryan Fitzpatrick(!) went for 9.6 and 9.4 yards per attempt respectively against KC. Now Jamaal Charles looks a little banged up, and Drew Brees and crew come home. I expect their savvy crowd to pick up the defense, and for the Saints to get win #1. PICK: NEW ORLEANS

Bengals @ Redskins - Washington was gutted by injuries to Brian Orakpo and Adam Carriker. RGIII will be able to hang in some shootouts, but if Andy Dalton has time this game AJ Green will take the top off the defense routinely. Redskins are in trouble until they find a pass rush. PICK: CINCY

Eagles @ Cardinals - Cardinals getting a lot of credit for last weeks win in New England, but remember, they nearly lost it in the end. They will need turnovers by the Eagles to make the same thing happen. I think they get them. PICK: CARDINALS

Falcons @ Chargers - Fun game. Falcons face another quality defense... or do they? San Diego has shut down "powerhouses" Oakland and Tennessee. Falcons reverse this trend. PICK: FALCONS

Texans @ Broncos - This could be a great game, as I doubt Peyton Manning plays catch with defenders again. But like Mary, there's just something about Houston. PICK: TEXANS

Steelers @ Raiders - If NFL teams could be related, wouldn't these two teams be siblings. Steelers would be big brother, having stayed home and worked hard to support the family, but has a seedy side, like maybe a cockfighting addiction. The Raiders left home, got a tattoo, moved around a lot, and ended up following a dessicated cult master around. Big brothers always wins. PICK: STEELERS

Patriots @ Ravens - The loss of Aaron Hernandez might be bad news for Baltimore. Now Belichick has to get creative. More Welker and Edelman causes matchup issues all over the field. PICK: PATRIOTS

Packers @ Seahawks - Seahawks. Here's why: Packers have been terrific against the pass, racking up sack after sack. Against the run however, they've been porous. Seattle is going to heavily dose Green Bay with the run. Essentially, Green Bay stops what Seattle doesn't try to do, and struggles against what the Hawks do best. Seattle basically practiced their Green Bay game plan against the Cowboys. Toss in an electric Monday night crowd, and Seattle is a dangerous team. PICK: SEATTLE
