There are just four more games left for the Tacoma Rainiers this year. For some, they probably can't wait for it to be over and for others, they're just getting themselves ready to head to Arizona.
Danny Hultzen is one who probably is elated that he won't have to pitch again in 2012. Hultzen made the start for Tacoma Wednesday and went 2.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 6 ER, 5 BB and 3 K. He finishes his season having allowing 10 earned runs in 3 innings over two starts with nine walks. He'll have some time to figure out where his command and "polish" went. Just for comparisons sake, against the same lineup, Brian Sweeney came in relief and gave up one hit and zero walks over 4.2 innings.
The Rainiers got the win yesterday by a score of 8-4 after Nick Franklin went 3-for-5 with a double. He will be one of the players headed to the Arizona Fall League to work on some things in hopes of playing with the Mariners next season.
Erasmo Ramirez went 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB and 3 K. Erasmo has allowed no earned runs over his last 12.1 innings to drop his triple-A ERA to 3.72 in fifteen starts.
Tacoma wraps up their season with four games at Fresno starting tonight.
