Mariners Vs. Twins Final Score: King Felix Hurls Another 1-0 Gem

The Seattle Mariners were back in the win column once again on Monday, thanks to another exemplary performance from their pitching ace Felix Hernandez. King Felix is firmly inserting himself into the American League Cy Young discussion with each phenomenal outing. Monday's 1-0 complete game shutout required Seattle's King to throw just 100 pitches as he held the Minnesota Twins to five hits and one walk.

It should be noted that Twins starter Liam Hendriks was every bit as good as Hernandez on Monday, limiting the Mariners to three hits and one walk as he also went the distance. Unfortunately for Hendriks, he allowed a leadoff home run to Eric Thames in the eighth inning, which Hernandez was able to make hold up as the M's captured the series opener.
