Mike Zunino 3-for-3 in Third Game with Jackson

Three is the magic number.

If Mike Zunino (#3) continues to hit this well, he's going to find himself towards the top of many "Top 100" lists to start next season. The Mariners top draft choice (3rd overall) was 3-for-3 with a walk in the Generals 5-2 win over Mississippi last night and is 4-for-8 over his first three games in AA.

Zunino finished his career at Everett by hitting .373/.474/.736 with 10 HR in 29 games and the Golden Spikes Winner is solidifying himself as a solid hitter that can stay behind the plate. A rare quality to find in any catcher and a reason that he might elevate himself up to the top 20 of some prospect lists if the 21-year-old can finish the season strong.

Nate Tenbrink was 3-for-5 with a triple, Stefen Romero was 2-for-4 with a triple, and Leury Bonilla added a triple himself. That's a lot of triples. Three triples. Meta.

Brandon Maurer pitched 6 shutout innings to move his record to 9-2 on the year with a 3.20 ERA.
