Peguero Hits Go-Ahead Home Run as Tacoma Rallies

The Tacoma Rainiers blew a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning yesterday, finding themselves down 6-5 going into the eighth, but "King of the Swing" Carlos Peguero hit a 2-run, 1-out home run to give the Rainiers the 7-6 lead and eventual win. Peguero, who is known for his massive home runs and massive-high-amounts-of-swing-and-misses, connected at just the right time in order to secure the Rainiers victory.

In 62 games for the Rainiers, Peguero is hitting .291/.373/.598 with 20 home runs, but also has struck out a phenomenal 90 times. He didn't strike out once yesterday, but had struck out 14 times in his previous 5 games.

Also getting offensive yesterday were Carlos Triunfel and Guillermo Quiroz, who both homered, and Alex Liddi who was 2-for-3. Erasmo Ramirez ended up giving 6 ER in 5 innings without a single strikeout, and Brian Sweeney ended up picking up the win in relief. Danny Farquhar picked up his second save.
