Fantasy Football Rankings 2012: Seattle Seahawks Quarterbacks Aren't a Good Idea

The Seahawks haven't had a legitimate fantasy football starter at quarterback since Matt Hasselbeck. That looks to continue this year.

It has been a few years since any Seattle Seahawk quarterback has maintained any sort of relevance beyond bye-week desperation plug in the fantasy football realm. That trend looks to continue in 2012.

It really isn't much a surprise considering that the favorite to come out of training camp with the starting job has only attempted 132 passes in his career. But then again, who can blame Matt Flynn - you don't exactly bench Aaron Rodgers the past few years.

With the battle between Flynn and third round draft pick Russel Wilson, the Seahawks are once again poorly represented in quarterback rankings. But both quarterbacks come with some words of encouragement.

Flynn has put up impressive numbers in the two starts he has made in his career but could that sample size be any smaller.

It is a small sample size (and the receivers that Flynn had on Green Bay are a lot better than the Seahawks receiving corps) but on New Years Day this year, he went 31-44 with 480 yards en route to a six touchdown day punctuated by a QB rating of 136.4. That is real fantasy good right there.

Wilson on the other hand has also been making some solid fantasy rumblings - of the keeper in the future kind. Barring some sort of change of heart from Pete Carrol or an injury to Flynn, Wilson will probably see limited action. But so far in limited action he has been effective in the time he has played, and should be on everyone's radar.
