PGA Championship Results: Rory McIlroy Wins, Shoots -13 Overall

The 2012 PGA Championship was completely dominated by the young Rory McIlroy, cruising to a major championship on Sunday afternoon. He broke Jack Nicklaus' record for the largest stroke lead to win a major as he shot a -13, defeating David Lynn (-5) and the rest of the field by eight strokes.

McIlroy shot a -6 on Sunday, tied for the best mark of anyone in the tournament on Sunday afternoon. The win marks the second major championship win of his short career. He will undoubtably remain No. 1 player in the world throughout the rest of the year.

Tiger Woods did not finish the Championship strong, shooting an even par-72 on Sunday. He finished tied for 11th place at -2, although Tiger would say he expected more of himself after a strong start in the earlier rounds.

Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Ian Poulter and Carl Pettersson all tied for third place at -4 overall. Phil Mickelson placed 36th after shooting a +3.
