Mariners Vs. Angels Final Score: Seattle Picks Up Much-Needed 7-4 Win

The Seattle Mariners suffered a tough-luck loss behind Felix Hernandez on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels. The team bounced back admirably on Saturday night, evening the series with a 7-4 win.

The Mariners jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning with RBI singles from Trayvon Robinson and Dustin Ackley. John Jaso belted a solo homer in the third inning to make it 4-0 Seattle.

Seattle added another three runs in the fourth inning, on a Brendan Ryan sacrifice fly, an error by Albert Pujols and an RBI single from Jaso.

Vernon Wells, who was making a rare start in the wake of the exemplary play by Mark Trumbo and Mike Trout this season, finally got the Angels on the board in the fifth inning with an RBI single. He hit his seventh homer of the year in the eighth to cut the Seattle lead to 7-3.

Kendrys Morales led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a home run that got the Angels another run closer, but Tom Wilhelmsen held on to close out the win for Seattle.

The Mariners will go for the series win in the rubber match on Sunday.
