Sunday's Brickyard 400 was the latest race in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Local drivers Greg Biffle and Kasey Kahne had strong finishes, either improving their current position in the chase for the cup or holding fast.
Jimmie Johnson managed to capture the checkered flag, holding off Kyle Busch to win his fourth career Brickyard 400. Johnson is now fourth on the Sprint Cup leaderboard as the cutoff draws near.
Biffle is still No. 3 in the overall Sprint Cup Series standings, but is now close behind the second-place Matt Kenseth, who wrecked out and finished all the way down at No. 35 on Sunday. The new overall points leader is Dale Earnhardt Jr., who took fourth place in the Brickyard.
Kahne is No. 13 in the overall points standings, but his two wins this season have him currently in possession of the No. 1 Wild Card spot.
