There are two swimmers on Team USA that have roots in the state of Washington. Here's a little bit you should know about each of them.

Nathan Adrian hails from the hometown of Bremertown, Washington and went to school at Cal. Adrian is the prohibitive favorite from the United States in the men's 100 meter freestyle, and will likely compete in the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay and 4 x 100 meter medley relay. Adrian didn't swim well in the trials though, which kind of opens things up for the rest of the field.

Ariana Kukors resides from Federal Way, Washington and attended the University of Washington. Kukors will swim in the 200 meter individual medley and has won the gold medal in the event in Rome in 2009. Kukors finished second in the 200 meter IM in the Olympic Trials to Caitlin Leverenz, who is considered the favorite in the event.
