USA Vs. France, 2012 Olympics: USWNT Battle Back For 4-2 Win

The United States women's soccer team were looking to make a statement on Wednesday in their opening match against a talented France squad. Alex Morgan scored twice, Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd each netted a goal as well as the U.S. women's rallied from an early defecit for a 4-2 victory in their first round match.

The United States were stunned early by two quick goals against Washington native Hope Solo, leaving them in a 2-0 hole after just 14 minutes of play. Wambach would get America on the board in the 19th minute, followed by Morgan in the 32nd and Lloyd in the 56th.

Morgan scored again in the 66th minute to seal the French's fate. Despite the fact that the opening ceremonies are still two days away, Soccer is one of only two games that starts early so it can play a full tournament.

The United States play Colombia on Saturday.
